Roxtons clients are, of course, discerning people, and will be keen to know that wherever they take their sport they can be assured that the highest standards are in place.

In the UK, shoots are now able to offer a guarantee of their standards, through the new Game Shoot Standards Scheme. Shoots that offer some of the best and most enjoyable days will also be independently inspected behind the scenes to ensure their environmental, game handling, shoot management and safety standards are fully accredited.

Game shooting is under no credible immediate risk of a ban, but we can see that there are many organisations seeking to regulate what we do. Shoot managers and their representative bodies need shoot assurance in order to head off government intervention.

The not-for-profit scheme incorporates the Code of Good Shooting Practice and covers the conduct of the shoot, bird welfare, land management and delivery of wider conservation benefits as well as healthy food, safe shooting and considerations of good neighbourliness.

Shoots that are assured can not only claim, but can demonstrate they meet the highest standards. We are delighted that Roxtons is helping to promote this scheme as it can only help in securing the future of our sport.
