03/08/07 - A leviathan landed on the Lakselv

Congratulations to Dick Tapp (on right of picture) who landed this enormous fish in Northern Norway on the Lakselv River after a 30 minute dash downstream. Fishing a blue and black conehead with only 22lbs nylon this 44lbs fish was the highlight of a great day on the Lakselv. Three large fish (20lbs, 26lbs and 44lbs) were landed to just four rods over the day, testament to the size of fish that run this river.

Whilst by no means a numbers fishery, the Lakselv offers a real chance of that fish of a lifetime at a very reasonable cost. We will be taking three of the prime weeks on the river next year and look forward to more tales of huge fish being landed and lost.
