21/02/08 - Rain with exciting results - a 27lber!
With more rain in the hills the river has risen between four and five inches while still remaining crystal clear. This rain has seen the fish migrating up the river and has resulted with 75 fish over the 15lbs mark of which the biggest were 24lbs, 26lbs and a whopping 27lbs.
The weather has been unstable this week with constantly changing winds, rain and sun. The water temperature has ranged from 44 to 50 degrees Fahrenheit during the day. With the rise in water a mixture of lines have been used, from light sink tips to intermediate to floating lines. The most successful flies this week have been nymphs, Chartreuse Woolly B's, Leeches and streamers, all in small sizes.
The forecast is for clouds, sunny spells and the possible chance of rain for the end of this week. We therefore advise to take a range of lines to cope with any situation as conditions can change very rapidly.
There are no spaces left for this season but if you are interested in experiencing this fabulous fishing in 2009 please call us as soon as possible as the repeat rate of clients is very high and there will only be limited spots available. Please contact Charlie White or Sarah Chamberlain on +44 1488 689 701 for further details.
