21/03/2007 - The water level has risen with excellent results
The season continues to produce excellent fishing throughout the Estancia Maria Behety's beats, with many landed fish over the 15lb mark and the biggest being a 23lb male this week.
At the beginning of the week the weather conditions were almost perfect, with very little wind and not too cold. The water temperature has ranged from 48 to 53 degrees Fahrenheit during the day.
The water has risen and this has been reflected in the lines that have been most successful. They are using sink tips to fully sinking lines such as Teeny 200. During the day they have been using a variety of flies (Red Tail, Princes, EMBs Yuk Bugs and Olive Woolie B's) but the most effect seems to be the Bitch Creek in small sizes. At night, leeches such as Skagit Minnows and Sting Leeches are working well along with big black flies.
The weather forecast is windy with the odd sunny and rainy spell throughout the week, which shows the variety of weather conditions and how quickly it can change in Tierra del Fuego. Therefore we suggest that you take a variety of clothes and equipment to cover all conditions possible.
There are no spaces left for this season but if you are interested in experiencing this fabulous fishing in 2008 please call us as soon as possible as the repeat rate of clients is very high and there will only be limited spots available.
