Yokanga, Russia - 24th June to 1st July
The river is known for its runs of large salmon (120 fish over 20lbs in the 2015 season) and accommodation is in a comfortable lodge. Fresh fish still run the river at the end of July and you can be certain that you are casting over fish of 20lbs and even 30lbs on a daily basis.
The regular cost for this week is £10,800 per rod from Murmansk but we are offering these rods at £9,800 per rod from Murmansk (includes the private charter from Helsinki).
Sunnudalsa, Iceland - 5th-12th August & 12th-19th August
The Sunnudalsa is the main tributary of the Hofsa located in the north east of Iceland. It is a stunning little river with a very comfortable lodge with four en suite bedrooms.
The cost includes a self-drive 4x4 car which you pick up at Egilsstadir. It is real adventuring stuff in the north east if Iceland - rugged and remote. As long as you only fish the weekly maximum of four rods, you can rod share and divide costs between you to keep costs down. The weeks fishing could produce anything from 10-25 salmon to the four rods, ranging from grilse to 15lbs+.
In August the salmon are well spread along the river, with new fresh fish still running. The four rods can be divided with two rods fishing above the falls and two rods below the falls. Particularly if there is low water, we suggest that the river is fished with care with one person spotting for the other rod and accurately targeting fish. It can be counter-productive for all four rods to be blind casting on their own all day long.
The standard price for these two weeks is £9,500 (5th-12th August) and £8,500 (12th-19th August) but these have been discounted to £7,000 and £6,000 respectively.
