Another spectacular season at Patagonian BaseCamp
By Hannah Treliving
Another season has ended in wonderful fashion, with fantastic fishing and beautiful weather...
A phenomenal season of fishing has come to a close at The Patagonian BaseCamp in remote Chile. With the exception of two or three weeks, the sometimes unpredictable weather of the region has been great and the rivers in fine condition. Due to low rainfall throughout, the team were forced to be creative with the fishing programmes which resulted in the discovery of some new and incredible fisheries. The Yelcho river system was one such revelation, and although the guides had fished it before they perhaps underestimated how good it could be. It proved itself to be very productive, a strong contender which is definitely going to be a fixture in future programmes.
This season saw the launch of the PatagoniaOne programme, the cross-border extension of the original BaseCamp programme. Five groups ventured into Argentina after fishing in Chile and enjoyed the fantastic diversity of this exploratory trip. Enquiries are already being taken for next year so do not miss the opportunity to be able to cast a line from both sides of the Andes.
There has never been a better time to travel to Chile and Argentina. Next season will run from early December at The Patagonian BaseCamp. Charlie White has been fortunate enough to sample the superb fishing on offer so please do not hesitate to contact us to discuss it.
