Two additional weeks added to Yokanga program for August
By Pete Rippin
Due to an exceptionally late spring this year, we are going to operate Yokanga Lodge for an extra two weeks this summer (29 July - 5 August and 5 - 12 August)...
We have specially limited these weeks to a maximum of 10 rods per week (Yokanga Lodge is normally 16 fishers per week) to ensure the best possible experience for each fisherman. This will mean each fisher will have a single en-suite room in the Yokanga Lodge and fishing will be rotated over five extra long beats on the best areas of the middle Yokanga river. These will be very relaxed weeks and we anticipate good quality fishing. With groups of just 10 rods they will also have very much the “Sporting House Party” atmosphere.
At this time there will be fresh fish running from 5 - 15lbs or so and then of course lots of fish through the high teens, twenties and up to and over 30lbs that will be in the river already, most of them holding in the classic middle river beats we will fish in these weeks. In terms of the difference between the weeks, 29 July - 5 August will likely have very good numbers of fresh fish running, the week 5 - 12 August will possibly see slightly less fresh fish running and perhaps more of the very large, holding fish coming on the take again as the weather cools towards the autumn.
Please do not hesitate to contact us to be sent an itinerary for either week. Both weeks are very well priced at £4,000 per rod from Murmansk, other costs are detailed on the itineraries. You can see more information on the Yokanga Blog which started to document the 2017 daily fishing as of yesterday.
If applicable, we are able to apply your Varzuga cancelled trip, including Helsinki - Murmansk - Helsinki charter flights and Helsinki Hotel, to either of these weeks should you wish to try Yokanga.
