It was another challenging week on The Rio Grande but the average weight of the catches was 12lbs at La Villa and the fish of the week at Estancia Maria Behety was a 22lbs buck...

By Diego Motter – head guide at La Villa

We had winds from the south and the east, low air temperatures, low water temperatures, and an unsteady barometer – fishing was tough! We landed 55 fish for the week, twenty over 15lbs and three over 20lbs. Average weight of sea-trout landed was 12lbs, another great average.

The river is at a good level right now - it is clearing a lot and we are still using sink-tips and big flies. We didn't find many fish in the lower beats, with the rise in the river the fish moved to the middle and upper beats.

Top rod of the week was Markus K with 14 fish to the net, the biggest of which was 19lbs. Cindy C landed the biggest fish of the week - a 21lber.
