Located in the La Mancha region of Spain. La Cuesta has built up an enviable reputation of showing some of the highest partridges on offer in Spain. We are delighted that we are now able to offer days on behalf of the owners.
The two lodges, Las Beatas and La Cuesta provide very comfortable accommodation on the estate for parties up to 10 guns. Las Beatas has 24 rooms for larger parties and is a short drive from the shooting field. La Cuesta is a slightly smaller, more intimate lodge with 14 en-suite rooms and is situated in the heart of the estate.
The shooting is excellent and for those who wish to shoot very high partridges all day long then this is the place for you.

Licence requirements: EU residents must have a European Firearms Pass, non EU residents require a letter of permission from their local Spanish Consulate. Local shooting licences and insurance are obtained by Roxtons on your behalf.
Insurance requirements: Membership of the Countryside Alliance includes the necessary insurance.
Guns: Double guns are recommended for La Cuesta.
Shooting in Spain is not nearly as formal as shooting in the UK so a relaxed dress code prevails. Layers are sensible as you may awake to a sharp frost but by lunchtime the sun will be high, the sky clear and shooting in shirt sleeves will be the order of the day. Walking boots are recommended, as wellingtons will hopefully not be required.
Day 1
Met on arrival in Madrid and assisted with Police clearance of your guns. Transferred to La Cuesta. If flying by private plane you must fly to Ciudad Real International Airport where you will be met and helped with clearance of guns. You will be driven from Madrid to the estate (3 hrs and from Ciudad Real 1hr).
Day 2
All day shooting.
Day 3
All day shooting evening flight back to home, or spend another night in Madrid.
Horse riding, quad biking and walking are all available on the estate. English speaking guides can be arranged for tours of Toledo, Cordoba or Granada and other places of interest.

Our View
There is no doubt that La Cuesta shows some of the highest birds in Spain. It may not suit all guns but for the high bird purist looking to be really challenged, then this will definitely be for you.
