Situated in the La Mancha region of Spain, La Nava has built up a reputation over the last 10 years of being one of the most luxurious and sought after shooting estates in Spain. It is the combination of a superb new lodge with amazing views which has been expertly designed with shooting parties in mind with fantastic shooting.
The shooting at La Nava is varied, indeed the shoot covers some 60,000 acres which allows the owners to produce birds for every occasion and for every style of shooting. From traditional fast flying Spanish-style shooting on some drives to the high birds of El Baranco, where the partridges are flushed off high hills to produce some stunning birds.
The newly completed lodge has been purpose built to ensure that parties want for nothing: saunas, a fully equipped gym, swimming pools and beautifully appointed en-suite bedrooms make it hard beat. The food and wine is very good with efficient and accommodating house staff.
Clients can also take advantage of the estate's private runway, which can accommodate private jets.
Season: October – February.
Licence requirements: EU residents must have a European Firearms Pass, non EU residents require a letter of permission from their local Spanish Consulate. Local shooting licences and insurance are obtained by Roxtons on your behalf.
Insurance requirements: Membership of the Countryside Alliance includes the necessary insurance.
Guns: Double guns are recommended for La Nava.
Shooting in Spain is not nearly as formal as shooting in the UK so a relaxed dress code prevails. Layers are sensible as you may awake to a sharp frost but by lunchtime the sun will be high, the sky clear and shooting in shirt sleeves will be the order of the day. Walking boots are recommended, as wellingtons will hopefully not be required.
Day 1
Met on arrival in Madrid and assisted with Police clearance of your guns. Transferred to La Nava. If flying by private plane you must fly to Madrid Torrejon airport where you will be met and helped with clearance of guns. Then you can fly to La Perdiz runway at La Nava where you will be met and transferred to the lodge.
Day 2
All day shooting.
Day 3
All day shooting evening flight back to home, or spend another night in Madrid.
Horse riding, quad biking and walking are all available on the estate. English speaking guides can be arranged for tours of Toledo, Cordoba or Granada and other places of interest.
La Nava is just over two hours from Madrid by car, depending on the traffic but a short hope in a private plane and the runway is just a few minutes from the lodge.
