What do you want from a fishing destination?
We are all different but if you want reliability, big fish, excellent guides, supremely comfortable lodges, a week of varied fishing techniques and fabulous food and drink then you really shouldn’t look any further than the Maria Behety fishing on the Rio Grande in Tierra Del Fuego, Argentina.
Another week has just ended, what a great group and the fishing was very good too. 120 fish landed with 25 fish over 15 pounds. 2 lovely fish over 20 pounds. Average weight 9 pounds. All in all a great week.
We enjoyed great fishing with floating lines, tubes flies and green machine proved to be the best.
Also intermediate lines with long leaders with an emb nymph worked well.
One of the great pleasures of working in the travel business is when you speak to returning clients who have had a fishing holiday that has surpassed all their expectations. It is really rewarding to hear the genuine enthusiasm in their voices as they tell you all about it. I recently spoke to clients who just returned from ten days of fishing the rivers and lakes from Patagonian BaseCamp in Chile.
It was a great fishing week. Lots of fresh fish coming in from the ocean. We had excellent sessions fishing floating lines and sunray shadow or emb.
108 fish for the week.
Dave P was our top rod (as usual) with 23 fish in the net. Clel N landed 22 fish.
Karl S landed the fish of the week: 19 pounds.
The fishing was good this week and the river is at a great level. All the fish are very fresh and we landed 70. 12 fish were over 15 pounds, 2 over 20 pounds. Average weight 10.5 pounds...
From Federico Molinolo – Head Guide
Our first guiding week of the season is over. We had a whole new group of anglers this time and we had a lot of fun with them. Fishing was very tough, but we all worked hard to get some fish. 74 fish landed. 12 fish over 15 pounds, 2 of them over 20 pounds...
A technically challenging week to start the season but despite the conditons a solid start.
Winds from the east, low air temperatures, and a rise of the river on Friday with dirty water, made the fishing tough this week at La Villa. The team landed 30 fish for the week with 2 fish over 15 pounds. Average weight 9 pounds...
After a difficult two weeks, the season on the Umba is now really beginning to pick up. It is very hard to know if this delay is because of unusually high water, an extraordinary and unexplained influx of pinks or simply that the whole of the Kola appears to be running later than normal – or a combination of all three?
