What do you want from a fishing destination? 

We are all different but if you want reliability, big fish, excellent guides, supremely comfortable lodges, a week of varied fishing techniques and fabulous food and drink then you really shouldn’t look any further than the Maria Behety fishing on the Rio Grande in Tierra Del Fuego, Argentina.

One of the great pleasures of working in the travel business is when you speak to returning clients who have had a fishing holiday that has surpassed all their expectations.  It is really rewarding to hear the genuine enthusiasm in their voices as they tell you all about it. I recently spoke to clients who just returned from ten days of fishing the rivers and lakes from Patagonian BaseCamp in Chile.

Just a short update to my report from last week on the Umba...

Call me fickle but I have found a new favourite river and it's also knocked my favourite river on the Kola peninsula off the top spot too.

Our annual hosted trip to Los Roques was, again, a huge success. The party of nine consisted of some experienced bone fishers, four who had not fished for bone fish before and included four avid lady fishers. A great mix and a really happy team...

Where else can you say you have enjoyed a birthday surf walk chasing GT’s in the morning and targeting trigger fish in the afternoon, followed by a delicious supper and a fished-shaped cake from the chef? Wow, what a day in paradise!
