Alphonse Island, Perfect Fishing Conditions!
The changing of the monsoons presented windless glassy conditions for Week 8 of the Alphonse season. The spring to neap tides was welcomed by guests and guides as the water was cold from the big tides the week before.

Charlie and myself returned to the Kulik Lodge in the Katmai National Park at the end of June for our seventh time accompanied by Anthony for his second trip.

"Great guides, we caught bonefish, trigger fish (which they had never thought to try and catch), cast at lots of permit, and at tarpon in the channels. Sadly no migratory bigger fish in residence, this was February, but gather you can luck in to the bigger ones later in the year."
Greenland – a trip report by Charlie White
Arctic char fishing in Greenland has been on my radar for a long time but for various reasons I have never actually taken the plunge. That all changed last year when, on the way to host a group on the East Ranga in Iceland, I spoke to Valgerdur Arnardottir (Arni Baldursson’s daughter) who had just come back from Greenland and was utterly raving about it.

The 2018 season has seen the Yokanga perform at its very best. The spring melt arrived at exactly the normal time and with snow levels within normal parameters, the season panned out precisely as it should.
