Record Day on the East Ranga, Iceland

East Ranga, Iceland, News
The East Ranga has had a staggering weeks fishing. Conditions have been excellent and with very strong runs of fresh fish, the result was a total of 503 fish landed to an average of 14 rods fishing the river. Equally interesting is the quality and health of the returning salmon. Clearly the feeding at sea has been excellent and the grilse and multi sea winter salmon are in excellent condition.

La Villa de Maria Behety Lodge Week 11 Report, 2020
This week fishing was slow and conditions were unstable. The river rose, then it dropped, then it rose again and then finally it got dirty. This, unsurprisingly, made for tricky fishing. Sinking lines worked best, with small and medium sized flies. Green rubber legs were the best fly of the week. 52 fish were landed, 16 fish over 15 lbs, 3 fish over 20 lbs with an average weight of 9.5 lbs.

Estancia Maria Behety Lodge Week 9 Report, 2020
Week 9 at Estancia Maria Behety ended on a high. Fishing was tough but productive. Even with difficult river conditions we managed to catch 105 fish for the week. 19 over 15 lbs and 2 over 20 lbs. Top Rod was our very good friend Kevin B with 15 fish to the net. Irvin P landed the fish of the week: 23.5 lbs.
La Villa de Maria Behety Lodge Week 8 Report, 2020
As week 8 comes to an end we reflect on a good week of fishing but it was not an easy week by any means. The water temperature dropped a few degrees from the week before and the wind blew up really hard for three of the days making casting very difficult. Despite tricky conditions we landed 85 fish with 14 of them over 15 lbs. John K was top rod with 19 fish to the net.
