Despite near perfect river levels it was a slower week and the fish really did not seem to be as aggressive. Despite being slower the good water allowed 78 fish to be landed, 15 fish over 15 lbs, 2 over 20 lbs, with an average weight of 9.5 lbs. Roger Y was top rod of the week with 18 fish landed. Keith C landed the biggest fish at 20 lbs. Sinking lines worked best with EMB and some action on the surface with the Green Machine.

A great week on the Rio Grande, the river levels are perfect for the time of year. However on Friday the river went up and coloured a little which is handy for the coming weeks. 71 fish were landed, 17 fish over 15 pounds, 2 over 20, Average weight 9.9 lbs. Floating lines and slow sinking were the best, green machine was the best fly in the week. There were so many offers on the surface, with green machine, striping short and slow to keep the fly in the surface.
St Francois Atoll was on top form over the past week. An event occurred that only happens once every few years. Massive schools of rabbitfish formed bait balls and moved into the lagoon which in turn made the GT’s go absolutely wild. The GT fishing was fantastic over the last week coupled with amazing bonefishing and even a few permit and triggerfish being caught in between. Not only was the flats fishing amazing but also the bluewater angling, with anglers landing some catches of a life time.
The sea trout season in Tierra del Fuego has just started and the Estancia Maria Behety lodge have opened the season with the addition of a smashing new lunch hut over looking the river. The season is just starting but the fishing has been good and water levels are ideal for the time of year. On the high cliff above the lower river the lunch hut provides a warm, cosy sheltered spot to enjoy a wood fired lunch with a magical view.
