I have just waved goodbye to our latest group of guests and we have all had another amazing week.

Perhaps the Los Roques experience can be summed up by the first day of our week.  We welcomed 5 clients who had never fished in saltwater before and 1 who has been all over the world.

By the end of the first day, 5 clients had all caught their first bonefish (plus a huge amount of other species) and the experienced rod was within a 2 flicks of a fish’s tail to landing a Grand Slam.

Something for everyone normally means not much for anyone, not here. The sheer wealth of fish is quite extraordinary and everyone has had sessions that have created life long memories.

It is possible to fish very hard and to catch all sorts of fish or, as 3 of our guests did, take it easy, catch some fish, visit the turtle sanctuary, have a swim, go for a mojito and just enjoy the day.

The island has a lovely vibe and wherever you go, you are greeted with huge smiles and a very warm welcome.

The food is outstanding and the lodge staff simply cannot do enough for us – it is quite simply just a very happy experience.

I know the group of guests coming next week very well and we will have a blast, it is almost impossible not to.
