East Ranga, Iceland, News

The East Ranga has had a staggering weeks fishing. Conditions have been excellent and with very strong runs of fresh fish, the result was a total of 503 fish landed to an average of 14 rods fishing the river. Equally interesting is the quality and health of the returning salmon. Clearly the feeding at sea has been excellent and the grilse and multi sea winter salmon are in excellent condition.

The salmon are spreading through the river already with for example Beat 3 and Beat 7 providing equally hectic action and a further highlight is the number of fish being landed measuring in excess of 80cm. Let’s hope they keep coming in the weeks ahead!
