Huge fish caught on the Lakselva
By Charlie White

We were delighted to be sent a message on Saturday morning to let us know that one of our regular rods had landed a 46lbs fish from the Lakselva - truly a lifetime fish.
It capped a fine week on our private water on the river with the 6 rods landing 17 salmon and 3 sea trout. Those figures might sound a bit light before you remember that the four bigest fish were 46lbs, 32lbs, 24lbs and 23lbs - overall the average weight of fish landed was 22lbs with many more lost after epic battles.
The big fish rivers in Norway are unlikely to rival the Varzuga when it comes to numbers of fish landed but for those who want to pit their wits against the biggest salmon in the world, then the Lakselva has to be at the top of your list.
The 2014 season is full but if you would like more information on this extraordinary river then please do not hesitate to contact Charlie White or Hannah Treliving.

Isobel S with one of 9 fish she and her husband Ian, landed on just one session on the Rio Grande. A great session for sure but made slightly more epic when you are told that they were sharing a rod and that the combined weight of those 9 sea trout was 122lbs. Just an astonishing fishery.
