65 sea trout were landed in the second week of the La Villa Maria Behety season. The fishing was good for the first two days but then three days of 100km winds made for tricky fishing! 10 fish were over the 15lb mark with 2 over the 20lbs mark. The sea trout averaged an impressive 8.5lbs.
While the water is relatively low and clear, the lodge is currently recommending taking at least two rods, one set up with a floating line and the other with a floating line. This last week sinking lines worked best with Skagit heads with varying lengths of T-17, T-14 and T-11. Big flies and tubes worked best.
Fingers crossed for some more stable weather as the season progresses.
