Happy new year to everyone! We are very happy to start a new season at La Villa de Maria Behety. We are proud to announce the addition of Guido Perillo to the team of guides. Guido is young but experienced, and has an impressive background in fly fishing and guiding. He guided in the Bolivian jungle for Dorado for 3 years, in Santa Cruz, Patagonia for big Rainbows, and in the upper Rio Grande.
We had 7 guests this week, Amanda H and Jukka H from Finland, in their first fly fishing experience, Alan F from the USA, who learned how to cast a two handed rod; and our old friends, Alejandro A, Ronnie B, Alec S and Horacio P, all from from Argentina.
Despite the fact that the river is in great shape our first week, we feel that the fish are not in the system in big number, so far. The good news is that towards the end of the week we saw more action, meaning that new fish are returning to the river.
Alejandro A from Argentina was the top rod with 3 fish, he also landed the biggest, a fresh 12 lbs female.
The average weight was 7.57 lbs, the average catch a day per angler was 0.16 fish.
