As predicted, the unsettled weather did affect many moors throughout the country which led to reduced programmes. However, there were still several moors that are still shooting so have had another successful season. Hopefully the weather will be kinder next year and we’ll be reporting on another vintage grouse season right across the uplands of the UK.
In other areas, summer arrived too late in the UK for the grouse but it has led to many guns enjoying ‘Spanish’ like conditions for driven partridges. We’ve had some cracking days throughout the country with guns from the US, France, Belgium, Germany, Holland, Russia and all parts of the UK enjoying some first class sport. Although the pheasant season opened a month ago, we’re not yet in full swing on our pheasant only days which is just as well with the current foliage on the trees.
Overseas, we’ve had many guns enjoying the delights of Argentina and Spain and we’ve just had our first two days on the partridges in Mallorca which has been a tremendous success.
We all look forward to seeing you out and about in the field.
