Northern England, England

The North of England is a sporting mecca that combines some grouse shooting with high partridges and pheasants which rival the West Country.

The largest shooting area in the UK includes some of the best grouse moors and high bird shooting.

From typical deep wooded valleys with well situated game crops to provide high birds in the Helmsley area to partridges and pheasants driven from moorland edges over the deep gullies, this area really could keep a sportman entertained from grouse on 12th August to the end of January shooting some of the highest quality game birds the UK has to offer.

Shoots such as Duncombe Park, Farndale, Murton Grange, Warter Priory, Ravenswick and Urra to name a few all show fantastic sport of the highest order.

With the area having such a great sporting basis, the accommodation available in the area is extensive from private houses, luxury hotels with spas to great pubs/inns with excellent cuisine and Michelin star restaurants. There really is something for everyone.

Access is relatively easy; York is two hours by train from London and Tyneside airport is conveniently close.

"As usual a slick operation, another great week, Grouse, High Partidges, great hotel and amazing weather, what else could we have asked for?!"
