Another week on the fabulous Rio Grande in Tierra del Fuego has been completed. The weather during week two in February was very variable from hail to bright sun. For the first couple of days the fish were a touch moody, having decided that changeable weather was not their happy place.

The beginning of the week was challenging. There were unusual 129km wind gusts which made casting difficult to put it mildly! Over the next couple of days all went back to normal and the fishing was terrific. Towards the end of the week there was some rain and winds from the north east which seemed to put the fish off a little but nevertheless the fishing was very good over the course of the week.

Week 4 at La Villa Maria Behety turned out to be an excellent week. 100 fish were landed to the six rods with 25 fish over 15lbs and three over 20lbs. Top rod of the week was Paul Richardson with 19 fish to the net, the biggest being 18lbs.

The fishing has been getting better and better on the Rio Grande. Expectations were high since some larger fish were showing up. There were some experienced fishermen at Estancia Maria Behety and they took advantage of the situation. The 12 rods landed 142 seatrout, 34 of them over 15lbs and the two biggest were both 22lbs.
