Chaa Creek, Belize
As one of the most highly regarded and awarded Belize resorts, Chaa Creek takes a wildly civilised approach to adventure travel in the Caribbean and Central American region, providing casual luxury in a vibrant, unspoiled rainforest setting.
Chaa Creek is located inland near the town of San Ignacio on a private 365 acre nature reserve set along the banks of the Macal River. Even though the lodge does not offer fishing it works perfectly when you combine it with a trip either before or after at a beach resort where you can fish.
Nestled in the foothills of the Maya Mountains the Lodge is home to a number of exotic jungle dwellers including peccaries, jaguar, monkey and many others as well as over 300 species of tropical and migratory birds.
Chaa Creek Belize vacation resort offers customised eco tours and adventure activities including horse riding, swimming, canoeing, hiking, mountain biking, birding, visits to the onsite Butterfly Farm, Natural History Museum and rainforest tours, including a traditional Maya medicinal plant trail.
