Alaska Rainbow Lodge, USA
Alaska Rainbow Lodge is a completely remote fly out fishing lodge located on the Kvichak river about 35 miles north of the town of King Salmon. It is completely inaccessible by road, accessible by floatplane only.
The lodge offers access to 10,000 square miles of untouched wilderness with daily flights in their fleet of floatplanes. There are over 30 different fishing locations within about 100 miles of the lodge for Rainbow Trout, with the opportunity to cast for every species of salmon, as well as all Alaskan freshwater species (Char, Grayling, Lake Trout, etc). There are many different styles of fishing available from jet powered drift boats, john boats, rafts, and hike and wade trips. With 20-25 boats set up at different locations and 8 rafts, the infrastructure for the guests is second to none. Guests get to choose what they would like to do the next day each evening at cocktail hour, so the trip is completely customizable.
All trips are kept at a 2-1 guest to guide ratio, so guests are always getting the appropriate amount of attention and instruction to insure a successful day on the water. The lodge also provide a hot shore lunch each day with hot soup, sandwiches, cookies, chips, and sometimes fresh fish depending on the fishing location. The beverage of your choice is delivered to you out on the river, and water and hot coffee are always available.
All fishing equipment (rods, reels, line, flies etc) is provided but the guests are welcome to bring their own if so desired. Waders are available to rent at the lodge, if guests do not want to bring their own.
Accommodation
The lodge itself has a capacity of up to 16 anglers (20 for a private group that rents out the entire place). There are 5 double occupancy rooms in the lodge with two queen beds and a private bathroom. There are also 3 cabins, each with 2 single occupancy bedrooms with a shared bathroom in-between. The cabins are set up for anglers that do not wish to share a bedroom and are reserved on a first come first served basis. Daily housekeeping is included, and all areas of the lodge are kept spotless clean.
In the lodge there is an open bar accessible to all guests and included in the price of the trip. Special attention is given to ensuring exceptional hospitality during your stay, with a team of two Chefs who provide breakfast to order and prepare fantastic dinners each evening. You can relax after a long day on the water in the onsite wood fired sauna.
