Fishing

39 fish in three days to two rods in Iceland

by Roxtons

Pete Rippin reports from Sela that 98 salmon have been landed to six rods, and two of these are over 20lbs. ‘A great group of fishers including four daughters, all guests of RG. Fantastic guides, chef, food and service – RR won the langoustine challenge!! Wonderful varied river with a good average size of salmon arriving, very few grilse as yet but should arrive in the next days.’

Meanwhile on Midfjardara, a client reports: “Rabbi looked after us immaculately and I truly have not seen a better managed lodge and river. The variety of the fishing was fantastic, the scenery/wildlife were beautiful and we all caught plenty of memorable fish on undisturbed water without anyone else about. The guides were brilliant and the chef was absolutely top notch – I certainly have not eaten better food in a London restaurant let alone a lodge….. it was delicious. The long and short of it is that we would all absolutely love to come back and fish Midfjardara next year on the same dates. We landed 39 fish in three days to two rods.”
