Six anglers enjoyed 97 fish of which 27 were ‘book’ fish of 15lbs or over. Kath S, John B, Phil D, Kelly W, Ryan S and Walter W were the anglers.
The weather was good for five days but we had a day of wind on the Tuesday, and wind in TDF terms was extraordinary even for this venue’s climate; 75mph plus. This had the effect of colouring the water and resulted in a change of flies for the rest of the week from the normal nymphs to streamers, Sunrays fished on floating and sinking lines being very effective, along with the usual big leech patterns in the last hour. Phil D, Kelly W and John B all had fish of 19lbs topped by Kath S’s excellent last five minute fish of 20lbs. Phil D was top rod with 24 fish of which eight were 15lbs plus. The staff, guides and food confirmed this as one of the finest fishing venues you can find anywhere.
