EMB Lodge Fishing Report – 10 to 17 Jan

Hello everyone, welcome to a new fishing season at EMB Lodge.

We are very excited to welcome our guests and are confident we will have an excellent season together.

The year has begun with the river in excellent condition. Its flow and structure are normal, the water is clear, and compared to last year, it has a slightly higher water level, so the conditions are perfect for our guests to have unforgettable moments.

Thank you for trusting us, and you can be sure that the entire EMB team will do everything in our power to make it happen.

Water Conditions

Water colour and visibility:  perfect, good flow, water clear, good visibility. The level of water is normal for this time of the season.

Water temperature: 7º / 13º

Weather Conditions

Air temperatures: -6/17º

Wind speed ranges from 15  to 75 km/h

Rain during the week: 10.8 mm

Fishing Conditions

Condition of the river is great. Water colour is clear with perfect visibility. Nice flow in the pools.

Bullet fish!!!

Most productive flies:

EMB, sunray shadow, san juan worm, yuk bug,  salmon flies, Rio Grande Queen,. Leeches at dark.

Fly lines (tips, heads, lengths, densities, etc.) mostly used:

Skagit heads (most used) : floating and multi density head (game changer, pickpocket, 3 D, FIST)

Scandi Heads (less used due to windy conditions)

Set of tips from 3 ips sink rate up to T20

MOW tips set.

T8 to T20: 10/12/15ft

Floating  tips

type 3-6-8 etc.

Length and strength of tippet and tapered  leaders: 9 to 12 feet(tapered). 12 to 20 pounds (tippet)

FOR SAFETY WE HIGLY RECOMMEND WEARING CLEAR GLASSES IN LOW LIGHT CONDITIONS.
