Christmas means one thing in our office – the sea trout season in Argentina is just about to start!
With daily countdowns and excited calls from the clients fortunate enough to be traveling down there this season, the first week can’t come soon enough.
The guides have reported that the first week was a great success and perhaps most importantly, at this early stage of the season, the river has great clarity and plenty of fish have already run.
The 6 rods at La Villa de Estancia Maria Behety landed 50 fish for the week with the biggest tipping the scales at 20lbs. Peter T used his single handed rod to great effect and accounted for 15 fish whilst the best lines were Skagits with varying lengths of T-14 and T-17.
It was very cold in the afternoons and whilst the river was a touch low for this time of the year, all of the middle and lower section pools fished well. We would expect the upper river to be slow to start and so it looks like the perfect opening week.
There is very limited availability left but if you would like to discuss any of the options then please do not hesitate to contact the office.
