First week of March just finished, great group, 4 new guest, and 2 repeaters, fishing was difficult, the water was cold, and the fish were deep in the pools. We made most of the catches with sinking lines, trying to get to the bottom, the fish didn’t move much.
The river rose on Thursday, and we had the best session on Friday morning, everyone had fish.
At the end of the week, we found the river with a much better level, and it was still clear, we hope the fishing improves with these conditions.
Most of our catches were with nymphs (dead drifting) , 55 fish landed, 13 over 15 , 1 over 20 pounds.
Top rod of the week was Mark W with 13 fish on the net.
Richard W got the biggest fish with 21 pounds.

Fishing Conditions
Flies that are working the best: Different sizes of sunray shadows, small salmon flies, nymph ( red tail, emb, prince, red butt, pheasant tail), green machine , for the last hour (intruder, leech, sunray ).
swing and striping the fly with floating and intermediate lines,( Sunray shadow, salmon flies, green machine, emb).
Most of our catches were Dead drifting nymph, with sinking tips( t11,t14,t17), size 10,12,14 (prince, red butt, pheasant tail).
Fly lines (tips, heads, lengths, densities, etc) that are producing the best: Skagit heads with different lengths of T-17,14, 11, scandi with polyleaders .
We recommend bringing two rods, one to use with scandi and another with skagit lines, also with this low water a single rod could be good.
Length and strength of tippet and leaders: 7 to 12 feet. 15 to 20 pounds.
Most of the fish are in middle and upper part of the river.
