Patagonian BaseCamp is hailed as ‘superb’
When the only suggestion for improvement is a lower hook in the wader room we know that expectations have been surpassed...
Martin and Nadine L have just returned from Patagonian BaseCamp in the Chilean outback and had this to say: ‘The whole experience was superb. The fabulous scenery, great fishing and particularly the professionalism and friendliness from the lodge team and guides..’
The guides were complimented as the best three guides this couple have ever fished with, high praise indeed from the globetrotting couple. Martin explained how crucial the guide's input is, saying ‘yes, we casted to and hooked a lot of fish, but the real skill is in knowing where to find those fish and putting the fisherman in the best position to present to them. Greg, Craig and Hayden made sure we were in the right spots with the right techniques to give ourselves the best possible chances. First class!’
The lodge itself did not let the side down, the food was excellent and ‘probably of the highest standard in any lodge [they] have visited in the world… we will certainly be back to PBC.’
This couple’s comments speak volumes for the quality of this fishery and perhaps quash any concerns that it is a long way to travel to catch trout. If you are interested in fishing the phenomenal waters of Patagonian BaseCamp, please contact Charlie White or Hannah Treliving.
Isobel S with one of 9 fish she and her husband Ian, landed on just one session on the Rio Grande. A great session for sure but made slightly more epic when you are told that they were sharing a rod and that the combined weight of those 9 sea trout was 122lbs. Just an astonishing fishery.
What do you want from a fishing destination?
We are all different but if you want reliability, big fish, excellent guides, supremely comfortable lodges, a week of varied fishing techniques and fabulous food and drink then you really shouldn’t look any further than the Maria Behety fishing on the Rio Grande in Tierra Del Fuego, Argentina.
One of the great pleasures of working in the travel business is when you speak to returning clients who have had a fishing holiday that has surpassed all their expectations. It is really rewarding to hear the genuine enthusiasm in their voices as they tell you all about it. I recently spoke to clients who just returned from ten days of fishing the rivers and lakes from Patagonian BaseCamp in Chile.
