Dear Fly Fishers,
I have been fortunate to fly fish for saltwater and freshwater species on many continents during the past eight years, and it is clear to me that the Atlantic salmon of the Yokanga River is one of the pinnacles of destination fly fishing. The wild terrain and unique strain of very large salmon certainly make it one of the most special salmon rivers in the world.
When the opportunity came for me to acquire the rights to the Yokanga River there was no hesitation. This was a chance to apply my professional experience and personal resources to the protection and improvement of this rough diamond in the tundra.
Although the Yokanga is one of very few rivers producing plenty of salmon of 30-40lb and larger, for a number of years it has needed new infrastructure investment and greater protection from poaching during and after the summer.
We have wasted no time in beginning to address these issues and are happy to report that our anti-poaching team, aided by new technology and working with local police, have already had significant results and criminal prosecution of the transgressors is underway. Make no mistake, we will protect this river that we all love so much.

We have invested in private helicopters, are expanding and training the guide teams, employed a crack team of industry professionals and have already started construction to improve accommodation and ensure that the Yokanga River rightly regains its reputation as one of the best destinations on earth.
I look forward to fulfilling my part in Yokanga’s story and to sharing with you my vision for the future of this great river.
Alexey Strulistov.
