For centuries, the wide variety of rivers and outstanding scenery have been drawing anglers back time and time again for the world’s best salmon fishing.  The heather-clad hills provide the perfect location for driven game shooting and stalking, making it a must-visit for any gun.

River Helmsdale

Needs little introduction as one of Scotland’s premier salmon fisheries. Guests have the opportunity to fish over the 24-mile length of the river covering 6 rotating beats, offering classic fly water and plenty of variety in stunning Sutherland scenery.

Kildonan Estate

Centrally located on the river with outstanding accommodation options.

Gordonbush – Upper Brora and Blackwater

Stunning highland spate river and self-catering lodge to sleep up to 16 guests plus space for a cook, overlooking Loch Brora. Varied and interesting river, which given water is still productive. This estate offers great value, and perfect for relaxed family or friends parties, with plenty to do locally.

Upper Shin

This beautiful highland river benefits from the Loch Shin hydro which guarantees fishable water heights right through the driest of summers. This estate can be taken by the week either with a classic Edwardian hunting lodge that sleeps 14 guests plus a cook or a comfortable eco lodge that sleeps 6 guests. The fishing is interesting and varied and it’s a great river to fish the hitch and stripped sunray. There are two rotating 4 rod beats serviced by one ghillie.

The river Ewe enjoyed an excellent season in 2025 with a very high repeat rate. This is a fantastic 4 rod salmon beat which comes with the services of a ghillie and self-catered lodge overlooking the river, offering excellent fishing and great value, with a chance of a big fish as many of the West Coast rivers produce, out largest last season was around 25lbs…

Benmore Estate – Knock House

The charming Knock House is the perfect base for a mixed sporting week on the beautiful Isle of Mull, West Coast Scotland. The house is incredibly comfortable and serviced by a hard working and friendly team to look after guests to a high standard. The lodge is let on a weekly basis with all sport included. There is trout and salmon fishing on the spate rivers Forsa and Ba, with excellent loch fishing, for both salmon and trout from traditional clinker boats. The estate has two sea going boats that can be used for island hopping and sightseeing (including occasional basking sharks, dolphin and Orca), or sea fishing for mackerel, pollock, skate and occasionally shark. The estate also offers first class hill stalking over its vast acreage, as well as a tennis court, is close to a golf course and offers excellent cycling amongst many other activities – the perfect destination for family groups.

Benmore Estate has very recently renovated the smaller Benmore Lodge to a very high standard, set in a beautiful location overlooking Loch Ba. It has four bedrooms sleeping a maximum of 8 guests, which will be perfect for smaller groups or part weeks for those wanting to enjoy this stunning estate.
We have various dates available and please get in touch to discuss availability and sporting options.

Fishing on the River Findhorn

Beautiful highland spate river with self-catered cottages located overlooking the river. Three rod beats available. Very interesting and varied fishing, with plenty of water and variety, fishing a three-beat rotation.

Accommodation options:
There are two riverside cottages available; Fisherman’s a charming three-bedroom lodge £2,386 per week and Gardners comfortable three-bedroom cottage £2,105 per week. There is also a smart newly renovated 4-bedroom house available called Budgate £7,224 per week, for those wanting something smarter, but further from the river.

River Spey- Gordon Castle

Gordon Castle offers guests a chance to fish classic 6 rod lower Spey beats, with excellent facilities, accompanied by a ghillie. The beats rotate daily, offering good variety over a week’s fishing. The Castle weeks offer first-class serviced and catered accommodation in comfort and style. The area has a lot of offer non-fishing partners, including excellent golf courses, whisky distilleries and walking in the Cairngorms.

Bighouse Lodge – River Halladale

Bighouse lodge is set right on the beach, overlooking Melvich Bay on the Northern coast of Sutherland, sleeping up to 22 guests on a catered basis. The river Halladale is another classic highland spate river that can be very productive and is always interesting to fish, with much variety over its 24-mile length. When the river is low there is plenty on offer here with a 9-hole golf course a short drive away, hill lochs to fish for wild brown trout and a sea boat to catch mackerel and pollock. They can also offer hill stalking, roe stalking in the forestry, small driven partridge days and excellent wildfowling.

Basic costs here are £258 per person per night to include all meals, minimum of 9 guest weekly let. A three rod lower beat comes to £2,687 and an upper two rod beat £698 for the week.
